Frequently Asked Questions
Membership changes for 2010
Why make these changes?
The structure of the season is changing. We now have three clearly defined competitions and an increase in home Friends Provident Twenty20 Cup fixtures.
Why have you made these changes now?
During the course of the 2009 season, we listened to what life members and members were telling us and felt that membership should reflect the diversity of cricket that is played. Twenty20 is now an established part of the domestic programme and a key objective for our squad.
What does this mean for life members?
Life members will now have access to all home matches including Twenty20.
What is the difference between the old membership categories and the new ones?
The major difference is the creation of ‘the friend’s of Kent cricket scheme’. This allows followers of Kent cricket to tailor a package to suit their lifestyle. For example, if watching cricket on a Sunday is your thing, you can construct a package to reflect this.
Why have the prices of membership increased?
The number of day’s cricket now available to members has gone up and now includes Twenty20 cricket. It should also be noted that gate ticket prices have increased and so the value offered by membership remains most cost effective.
Are the ‘friends of Kent cricket’ benefits the same as those for membership?
No, the main difference is the fact that there are no voting rights and access to privilege seating areas is not permitted with the ‘friends’ package.
Are 'friends of Kent cricket' entitled to come to the Kent v Pakistan match as part of their package?
Yes. All 'friends of Kent cricket' can gain free entry to both days of the tour match.
What is the renewal deadline for current members?
The membership is for one year. It starts on January 1 and ends on December 31 but of course it is not too late to join the club at any point.
I have friends who would like to become members, how can I sign them up?
Please pass on the brochure included in your membership pack or contact the club on 01227 456886. You can also email; development.kent@ecb.co.uk.
Can I transfer my membership to another person?
No, membership is non transferable. Photographic ID is required.
Does my membership include tickets to the knock out stages of competitions?
No, these are excluded from the membership. However priority booking will be offered to members, should we qualify for the latter stages of competitions and finals.
What type of membership should I sign up for?
Look at the membership brochure and consider the various options. We have tried to broaden the appeal this year to reflect the various different lifestyles that people lead. Please consider what works best for you before making your choice.
When do I receive my membership card and other items?
All membership documentation will be sent out in the New Year, in plenty of time for the new season.
What other benefits are there available to Kent members?
The full package of exclusive offers is detailed within the membership brochure on page six. ‘Friends of Kent cricket’ do benefit in certain ways – see page nine of the brochure for full details.
Are the reciprocal agreements in place with other counties for 2010?
Yes, we have once again agreed arrangements with Essex, Hampshire and Sussex.
When does the club plan to announce the confirmed venues for the T20 in 2010?
Details of finalised venues will be confirmed on the club website as soon as they are known. The club is looking to confirm all venues for home fixtures by December 23 2009.
Thanks for your continued support.
Please keep backing Kent cricket.
